GT Boot Camp is the most comprehensive general transcription training program around.
Enroll now to get the skills you need to start earning money from home without sacrificing time with your family.
At GT Boot Camp, you'll get the skills and tools you need to live the lifestyle you want.
Your choice to enroll in this training program will be a life-changing one. Why do I say that? Because if you take it seriously, follow my instructions closely, and work hard 2-3 hours per day to develop your skills, then within about 6 weeks, you're going to have the kind of freedom most people only dream of having.
- You'll be free to choose when you work.
- You'll be free to choose where you work.
- You'll be free to choose what kind of work you do.
- You'll be free to choose your level of income.
No more having to get dressed to go to work. (You can work in your pajamas if you want to.)
No more commuting in bad weather.
No more letting someone else choose when you get to spend time with your family.
No more letting someone else tell you what work to do and when to do it.
No more paying for daycare.
No more missing your kids' school events because you had to go to work.
No more going to school for years and spending thousands of dollars to take a bunch of classes that don't even have anything to do with the job you want to do.
No more feeling restricted to one part of the country (or world for that matter) because, "Well, this is the only place that hires people to do this kind of work."
Lastly (you're gonna love this one): No. More. Workplace. Drama. Yes!
See, this transcription world isn't really about typing at all; it's about your life.
It's about freedom.
It's about you having the skills you need to live the lifestyle you want.
This training program is not going to be easy. It's going to require self-discipline and hard work. But here's my promise to you: I'll be here to help you every step of the way, from your first steps of hooking up your foot pedal to your first few weeks on the job. My goal is to be for you the teacher/mentor/friend I needed when I started my general transcription business almost 10 years ago.
So once again...welcome! I'm so excited I get to be at the beginning of your transcription journey.

I'll proofread each of your
and give you detailed feedback so you'll know
exactly which skills need to be improved so you can
master your transcription skills quickly and efficiently. See an example below.
The files are multiple lengths, cover a variety of subjects, and will give you experience transcribing difficult audio and foreign accents. I'll send you one file at a time. You'll transcribe it and send your transcript to me. Then I'll proofread it and send it back to you with detailed feedback. If needed, we can even hop on the phone (or Zoom/Skype) to talk about specific problems you need help with as you're learning transcription skills. I'll continue to send you practice files until we're both confident you're ready to start applying for jobs or seeking out your own clients.
Bonus #1: You will receive a huge list of and links to 100 general transcription companies that hire work-from-home transcriptionists.
Bonus #2: You're going to get two 45-minute coaching calls with me where I will answer any questions you have about setting up a transcription business or getting a job as a transcriptionist. (I recommend the first call at the beginning of the program and the second call when you're ready to start looking for a job or getting your own clients.)
Bonus #3: You will have access to our private GT Boot Camp Facebook community group where you can ask not only me but fellow students and other experienced transcriptionists questions and get regular encouragement and advice.
"Working from home as a transcriptionist accomplished both of my dreams! I've been able to help out our family financially and also watch our daughter grow up, not missing those 'big moments' of her first word, first step, first day of preschool, etc." — Julie Woodall
"The most obvious benefit of working as a transcriptionist is the ability to determine your own workload and set your own hours while working from the comfort of your own home. There is no commute, no mandated dress code, and there are no childcare issues! I have a full-time job, but from the first month I began transcribing I have consistently earned $1,000 a month as a part-time transcriptionist. Particularly suitable for a stay-at-home parent or anyone who just wants to earn extra income, transcribing is an ideal career!"

That depends on how you like to learn. There are four methods to learn general transcription:
1. The teach-yourself method. (Average cost: $250) This requires you to read books and seek out online resources to learn about the industry and how to get started. Then you buy your equipment/software, dive in, and adjust your approach as you learn the ins and outs of the business through trial and error. This is definitely the fastest way to get into the transcription business, but it can be scary, discouraging, and lonely to have to figure everything out on your own. Starting pay rates tend to be absurdly low for untrained transcriptionists, and it can take years to learn things that you'll wish you'd known when you first started out.
2. The traditional online-course method. (Average cost: $400-$600 + equipment/software) This gives you a syllabus/lesson plan (read a chapter, take a quiz, transcribe a fixed number of practice files, compare your practice transcripts to answer keys, take a final exam, get a certificate of completion) that will lead to you getting a job as a transcriptionist within 2-4 months after you start the course. It's a one-size-fits-all approach that will give you a structured environment to learn and grow your skills, but it can feel frustrating and lonely since you're not actually working directly with a coach/mentor through the course. Equipment, software, and physical workbooks/resources are not included.
Side note: You may be wondering how I know how online courses work. When I first entered the transcription field, I took an online medical transcription course. It cost $3800 (equipment, software, and books were included) and took me 11 months to complete. I learned a lot, but I also experienced the frustration and loneliness of working through the course on my own. Even though I could email questions to the staff or post questions in our student forum, I usually felt like I was being a bother and should be able to figure things out on my own. Maybe it's just my personality, but I hated that aspect of being in a traditional online course.
Which scenario appeals to you more:
Scenario #1: When you aren't sure about how to do something, you email someone and say, "I'm sorry to bother you, but when you have time, will you tell me if I'm doing this right?"
Scenario #2: You have a teacher/mentor who proactively says to you, "Let's go over this together so you can ask me questions and I can give you detailed feedback as we go along."
If the first scenario appeals to you more than the second one, then the traditional online-course method is probably a good choice for you. If not, keep reading. :-)
3. The traditional community college method. (Average cost: $10,000) To my knowledge, there aren't any general transcription programs available in a college setting, but if you're determined to learn transcription in a physical classroom, you could consider a medical transcription program instead. The negative side of that choice is that it's more expensive, will probably take two years to complete, and you'll have to take general education classes that don't have anything to do with transcription.
4. The GT Boot Camp method. (Total cost: $2997) This is a virtual business-in-a-box (equipment, software, workbooks, resources) plus one-on-one training that will give you laser-focused feedback so you can master the exact skills you need to get a good job working from home or start your own business in as little as six weeks.
Step #1: You'll have a coaching call with me so I can get a feel for your goals. How many hours a week do you want to work? How much money do you need to make? What kind of subjects would you like to transcribe? Once I know what you want/need, I'll recommend a game plan to meet your goals as quickly as possible.
Step #2: You'll take several skills assessment tests so we can identify the skills you already have vs. the skills you need. This step will eliminate a lot of wasted time.
If you're already a whiz at typing, you won't need to work on a bunch of typing drills. If you're not good at typing or you hit the stupid U key instead of the Y key every single time, I'll give you typing drills that will help you stop making that oh-so-frustrating mistake.
If you're a punctuation ninja, you won't need to spend a lot of time memorizing punctuation rules. If, on the other hand, you have some punctuation habits that need to be broken, I'll give you work that will get you on the right track.
Step #3: Then you'll start transcribing. I'll work with you on your individual needs so that when you start applying for jobs or seeking out your own clients, you'll have the skills, tools, and confidence you need to start earning good money quickly.
I will work with you on your individual needs so that when you start applying for jobs or seeking out your own clients, you'll have the skills, tools, and confidence you need to start earning money quickly.
"The day I left my brick-and-mortar job to pursue transcription from home was one of the happiest decisions I ever made. I now get to make a living while having the freedom and flexibility to enjoy the things I value in life. I love that as long as the work gets done, I can work from anywhere, any time of the day (or night). I want/need to work in the early morning and evening and have the daylight hours free? Totally doable. I want to be outside to enjoy a gorgeous summer day and still get my work done? I can do that. I want to spend a month visiting family and friends out of state but still work some of the time? No problem. Being a transcriptionist allows me to fit my work around my life instead of the other way around. I will forever be grateful for the moment I discovered transcription was a thing."
