My parents paid for me to take a medical transcription course, and while I made money from it, I quit after seven months because the pay was horrible, and I hated being a medical transcriptionist. I wondered what on earth I was going to do.
The answer struck me when I was at church in 2008. I thought, "I wonder if pastors have their sermons transcribed." I went home and did some research and discovered that churches all over the place were posting sermon transcripts on their websites. Someone had to get paid to do that, right? So why couldn’t it be me?
Long story very short, I launched my home-based transcription business, grew it over the years, and today, I’m the proud owner of a six-figure transcription company that I've run from the comfort of my home while remaining a stay-home mom to my children.
Home-based general transcription has been the happy ending to my nightmare story. It changed my life and gave me opportunities I couldn’t have dreamed of, and it can do the same for you.
